I have the same problems. Bought mine brand new from factory in 2008.

Had replaced the floor three times under warranty for water damAge and rotting. Replaced it again this weekend on my own since it is out of warranty. HAd to have complete new roof put on it one year out of warranty $2500. Tires dry rotted out in first year and all the stripes and stickers pealed off with in two yeArs.

Toilet leaked and took out bathroom floor twice. When I pulled the floor up this weekend it it soaking wet front to back. Roof is not leaking neither are windows. Looks like condensation builds up in that plastic vapor barrier due to temp changed between thAt and the floor.

The the insulation soaks up the wAter and it wicks up to the wood and rots it out over and over. When opened it this time I took out the wet insulation and put small slit in vapor barrier so water doesn't condemsate and build up in there to rot the floor. This wAy it can run out. Back when the factory was fixing it under warranty they would always claim they fix the leak by caulking a window or cargo door etc...

When I hAd the whole floor completely out I had two guys sit out side and poor water for and hour on everything roof, windows , seams, doors. No leAks at all. It is their horrible vapor barrier in the floor. Just like laying piece of plastic on the grAss in the sun and watching the moisture collect and cannot go anywhere.

This thing is the biggest piece of ***.

I'm going back to dealer this weekend and trading this in for a JAyco. After having two JAyco before this with no problems I'm going back to JAyco.

Leaking Slide. Dealer can not fix.

I bought a 2007 Concord. Have only used it three times and had trouble each time. 1. the front slide leaks bad and wets the carpet. mildew smell is bad. The alternator caused the entire dash gauges to go out. Cost $1200.00 to fix. the black water outlet is in the worst position it could be placed. I am 79 and it is hard to get to. The rear slide makes the worst noise. Sounds like it is tearing up when going in or out. The dealer is 80 miles from me and kept it 4 weeks without fixing it. Said he did. Now he wants me to take it back to him without helping me with the expenses. I am not sure what to do but I need some help. Marvin Trull, 68 Oak St. Varnville, SC 29944 8**-**3-4489. I need to get rid of this unit but can not afford to.

Poor Construction Quality

1. Window on living room slide had to be removed, dried out, resealed, and put back in. 2.Outside solid panel around side door shifted preventing door from being shut and locked-Panel had to be rebuilt by body shop. 3. Bedroom slide had to be replaced. Motor and gear box replaced-problem was there was a brass gear from motor which matched up to a nylon gear in the gear box. 4. Electric side step fell down on one side and had to be welded back. Problem was that only two spot welds held up one side of the step. Step needed to be bolted on in the first place. Short also happened in same side step because there was no rubber seal where electric wires entered into the electrical box on side step. 5. Plastic only covered under side of back cap exposing wood to water from the road. Rocks, etc from road tore away plastic. Repaired by spraying liquid truck bedliner over exposed wood surfaces on back of rear cap to prevent further damage. 6. Both clothes rods in bedroom fell down-Had to be reinforced and bolted to cabinet above. 7. Within the first year all three compartment batteries had to be replaced. 8. Most pieces of inside paneling had to be re-secured. 9. The wood support for the microwave oven fell down at the back. Problem was that it was secured by two screws which were screwed into the 1/8" plywood. The screws cut a verticle groove out of the panel. Repaired by putting two pieces of 1x2 under plywood support and re-securing. 10. When still new, noticed water in front of shower when you took a shower. Thought it was coming from shower door at first. Technician could not find the problem. Problem seemed to get worse. I found the shower drain pipe where it connected to base of shower had been cracked at connecting joint. This caused some slight floor damage under shower before it was finally found and fixed. 11. Numerous plumbing joints were found to be loose-never were tightened up when they were installed. 12. Leak found behind outside wall at point of outside shower head. Broken joint which was replaced. 13. When you are driving in the rain, some water accumulates in front of driver's seat. Exact source is still not known. May be coming from living room slide out and runs to lowest spot. 14. Drawer glides had to be re-secured. 15. The electrical system is not wired correctly because when the roof A/C is running and microwave is running it will kick the breaker switch in coach. 16. Switch for interior living room lights developed short and had to be replaced. 17. Bathroom door has shifted and is hard to close. 18. Top seal where from front roof cap connect to rubber roof seal started to crack. Repaired using 4" aluminum rubber roof repair along the seam. 19. The Jensen black and white monitor with three cameras is useless and is a waste of money. The images in the monitor is very, very poor and during the day it is of no use. Recently, I have a scheduled repair because the monitor has faded out and you now can not make anything out in the monitor at all. I would suggest only a color monitor. I can understand why Coachmen went out of business and sold it to Forest River. I like the 30ft length and three slides because it is very functional for two people and we do not have to pull anything behind us. The quality of craftsman who constructed this unit is brain dead or more likely the persons who built the unit simply did not care. I am not complaining about the dealership but only the quality of workmanship.

The dealer could not get it serviced quickly enough so I contacted the Warranty Dept. Service so exceptional I can't describe it. They jumped on my unit like a NASCAR crew and fixed everything I asked and then other items that they noticed were not up to their specs....

All these problems and the dealership that you bought it from did nothing for you?... The dealership you bought it from would have had to do their own inspection before accepting the unit on delivery.

Our 2005 model had a short term busted water supply problem under the kitchen cabinet sink and the water was absorbed by the flooring which acted like a wick and ruined the entire flooring structure

of course the camper would have to gutted out to access the poorly designed - molded floor which was spongy feeling to the feet even from new. At a cost to repair of nearly $5,000.00, just not worth investing another nickel in it. Yes, I have been informed and understand the industry made changes to reduce weight, but the engineered structural changes to the flooring was extremely poor and cheaply done. Will spend the rest of my living days telling people not to ever by any coachman products. Our previously owned 1987 Shasta was hands down a far superior RV

Poor Customer Service

I want to respond to today's lack of customer service. Something your company says is a high priority. I called to get my 2013 Coachmen Freelander looked at because the dash air will not move from the windshield defrost to any of the other vents. I was unable to reach my salesman or the service department so I left a voicemail. I received a call back 30 minutes later. The gentleman indicated I may have to go to a Chevy dealer for that service, but he would check and call me back. 10 minutes later he did call back and told me it would have to go the chevy dealer and may not be covered under warranty because I purchased the motorhome just over a year ago and did not purchase a service plan. I called back in a few minutes to talk to the company manager and was told he was unavailable and I was asked to leave a voicemail. I decided not to do that, but to send this email to you and will send a copy to coachmen. When we purchased from you we were told your business excelled in their service department and could handle any problem we might encounter with our RV. I am extremely disappointed with the service I received today and felt the gentleman I talked to was trying to sell me a service plan only and not trying to help me with my problem. I suggest you review your sales pitch to ensure your customers know that your company can't or won't take care of non-RV issues. I look forward to some sort of response from you. Sent from Dave Burk

This has nothing to do with Forest River Inc. or Coachmen.

Coachman states they have a one year warranty, which in fact they do, not their fault that that their warranty expired. I suggest that your complaint should be more geared towards the company of which you purchased the motorhome through and not the factory that produced the motorhome.

#753852

I don't see the problem. You purchased the RV over a year ago and it's a chassis related issue and he referred you to the chassis manufacturer. Most likely had you purchased the service plan the dealer would have taken it to the Chevrolet dealership for the service as well.
