After sanding scraping and grinding just applied the first two steps of POR 15 cleaner and Degreaser and metal prep and I'll let him sit for half hour probably have at least 3 hours in one side of fifth wheel all stuff I should not have to be doing if paint was applied properly to the frame

Here just two photos of my main I beam frames on my 2013 Chaparral Signature which we bought in 2014 and is one and a half years old. Had so many problems the first year with just the landing gear neglected to submit a claim on the rusty frame got to 3-year extended warranty and they won't reply on anything to do with the rusty frame in the process now scraping and sanding myself from putting POR 15 on it would never ever ever buy another Coachmen product and as far as extended warranty absolutely s***

I would say this is more to do with conditions where you live rather than the fault of the manufacturer.Lots of municipalities up north salt the roads in the winter months, and that stuff sticks around all year.

Get it slightly damp and the salt will spray all up under vehicles and cause all matters of havoc if not cleaned frequently.

Paint is not particularly resistant to brine solutions and will quickly degrade if not cleaned. One thing that will be robust against road salt is the spray on fiberglass coating often used on truck beds, but can also be used as an undercoating on vehicles.
