Warranty issues

Can't get anything fixed on my 2023 rv without having to pack it up and take it to a dealer. Can't get in touch with anyone at coachmen to get it resolved.

I bought it on the 26th of September 22.

If anyone knows how to get in touch with coachmen rv. I would appreciate the information.

Worst customer service ever!

Coachmen RV - Worst customer service ever!

AC on our 5th wheel has been having issues since early May. Trying to file warranty claim.

The 5th wheel rep, Kristyn Udell, will never return phone calls or emails. Constant excuses of voicemail not working, phone not working, havent been in the office because doing inventory, etc. Last time she emailed me was 6/1. I have sent 5 emails since then resquesting status update and have received zero response.

Completely unacceptable. Would not recommend coachmen 5th wheel just due to customer service being so poor

To compliment the dealer and coachman

I purchased a 2022 freelander and it was a lemon, 3 pages of repairs on first trip.

I purchased it from Toms Camperland in Avondale, Az and after they reviewed the unit, they gave me a full refund to apply to a new unit, I then purchased a class A Mirada and we have had no problems with it.

My suggestion is check out the dealer and make sure the dealer is reliable and will stand by the product, and I can not say enough about the service that I received from Tom;s Camperland

Worst camper ever

Bought a 2020 Catalina Legacy edition, 37ft bunk house. From the get go things started going wrong.

Electric canopy continuously collapse during rain, crashing into side of camper. No one could sleep. Finally had to have it replaced with manual only to have that fill with rain and the roller unit collapsed and bent in 90-degree angle. Cost almost 2K to replace.

SInk fixture chrome is bubbling and ready to peel off. Decals on both sides of the camper have blistered, bubbled and pealing off, gaskets on the outside kitchen door have shrunk and delaminated from the door and no longer seal the door, paint has peeled from all 4 stabilizer jacks and rusted. 99 percent of cooking done outside, yet rack over stove top burners, paint has worn off and glass top cover hinges are all rusty. Mattress in master bedroom worn out before end of 1st season.

Mattress covers on all 3 bunks have no zippers to remove and clean covers. Outside speakers sound like crap after 1 season. Dealership cut access hole to access plumbing on tub and simply screwed a piece of wallboard to close hole. 2 windows on tipouts are not square in the wall.

Glue on glass from poor installation. All exterior window, door and fixture openings have clear caulking gobbed on arount them. Look terrible.

The list goes on. Worst camper ever.

Poor quality

My first time ever buying a trailer and was so excited when I found the 2022 Coachman Catalina Legacy Edition 303RKDS ! Only to have the shower floor break open after 2 uses and not repaired as yet due to parts delay !

I have only had this trailer in use since June and no shower available all summer , the floor dropped out of the living rm slideout ( thank God for my dealership being quick to repair that) and the outside fridge cubby leaked water into my trailer and ruined a portion of my kitchen cabinets ! Not to mention staples coming up through the floor , loose trim , and Ive had to replace one of the cheap scissor jacks already! Plus rough edges inside the storage areas have scratched my hands repeatedly. I think I bought a lemon and have submitted at least 3 claims under warranty!

Totally disappointed and frustrated with this trailer ! I thought Coachman had a good reputation in quality products but looks like I was wrong

Injury

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I am emailing to state an injury and after I paid 47000 for a new camper I feel the steps are unsafe. We only have the one set of stairs to go in and out.

The step frame is more narrow than the width of the door. So when I stepped out my foot stepped out onto the the side rail and it slid off the side which caused me to fall off the side of the steps. I fractured and displaced my sacrum. I am only 40 years old and this has been a brutal recovery.

Now my husband has to build steps for it to be safer. I feel this is a huge concern.

Thank you for taking the time and reading this. Have a wonderful day.

Since the first time we went camping with our 2021Freedom Express 248RBS it's been one problem after another

First time camping we had water issues, the shower was not calked and water was going on the floor, we calked it. Then water started coming out of the hose under the kitchen sink as we were far from the dealer we could not fix it thank God the person camping next to us was a plumber he fixed it.

We brought the trailer to the dealer and asked them to verify that the hoses were all okay, they said yes. We go camping again and water was leaking under the outside kitchen, and again under the inside kitchen sink this time a hose going to the pump. We are now calling our trailer the water pool. the hinges on the doors are always needing adjustment, there are some slats not properly stapled above the table, there is a slat missing on the side of the kitchen cabinet at the entrance, the covers for the sink were all swollen due to water before using the sink ( the dealer gave us new ones.

We are so fed up with this trailer.

we love the floor plan but that is about all we love. I will not recommend this trailer or this company to anyone in fact we discourage people from buying this brand.

Framing structure

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

First of all I cant speak more highly of the company that bought Coachman they were able to give me diagrams on how to reconstruct the front of this camper trailer. Also gave me other advice.

Over a few calls and I spent two hours talking with them. And they help me with several Emails. Im pissed off at the people I bought it from.

I purchased a 2005 Coachman Capri ruby edition 27DS on craigslist. Well I knew that you needed to work the front right Filon from the door to the front was ripped off.

I walked through it. And I noticed I couldnt get the AC, furnace, and refrigerator to work. The person that was selling it started out with $4000. Then changed it to $3500.

Well I drove to Oklahoma to look at it. I told the lady I need to think about it because I couldnt get any of the appliances to work. Im 65 and never had owned a travel trailer. Im a master carpenter.

So I figured repairing the side was no big deal. Well she dropped the price down to $2500. I forgot to mention that the awning had been ripped off also. So I knew I need to fix the awning in the right front part of the wow.

Well long story short I drove home 70 miles. Backed into my driveway. Never went over 60 miles an hour all the way. When I got out of my pick up.

I was beside myself because the whole front was caved in. Which I did not notice when I was driving. The shelf was stable when I pushed on it the couch seems stable theres no smells in the camper whatsoever. Well once I took the front off from the inside.

Then the nightmare started. The couch had broken loose while driving. Where I didnt need to unbolt. When I grab the couch the Leg screws just pulled out of the floor.

So I move the couch out of the way and when I pushed on the front wall it popped back out worked easy. The shelf was loose at that point. Noticed it was a few screws they had put in it was from the outside hold it in place. Then I started removing A piece of those linoleum.

Thats when I found out all the black MOLD! Im not only have to replace all the flooring. Ive got a reconstructing reframe the front put on the new exterior and interior along with the side. The woman that I bought it from lived in Arkansas.

I picked it up in Oklahoma.

Cant believe how I got screwed over. I believe that both parties involved were pulling a scam together.

Coachmen RV - Dissatisfied with brand new coachman pursuit

Dissatisfied with brand new coachman pursuit. Should have done my research on this company.

Shouldve test drove it. Looks great performs otherwise. Slide out is buckling, shower light was stuck on without a switch anywhere in the RV for it. Leveling system non-functional.

And the first time I drove it at night I found out that the head lights do not work properly and that is an understatement all I have, if you can imagine this, is 2 narrow shafts of light coming from both sides of the RV with no light on the pavement in front of the RV.

I played with the light switch to no avail. How do they drive a new RV across Country and not report things like theseAnd the dealer is worse Giant RV in SoCalSouthernCalifornia run away from the read

Poor Quality and Workmanship

I took possession of our fourth travel trailer, a Coachmen 293RLDS in late October after waiting about two months to come into the dealership. This is our third Coachmen unit and our previous unit was a 2018 Surveyor 267RBSS.

So, this is four Forest River units. We were very excited about this unit because we loved the floor plan as it was similar to the Grand Design and the Winnebago units I really wanted, but at a lower price point.

However, I have to say that I'm disappointed with the quality control aspect of the unit. Some were small things like skirt brackets not fastened, screws missing in window frames, window scratched on the exterior glass, missing light cover in the bathroom, But others were not. The bathroom exhaust fan/vent not fastened completely to the ceiling correctly, the driver's side slide would rub against the front of the couch causing wear due to the couch improper location, molding falling off, improper fastening of the four stabilizer jacks, enclosed underbelly material not sealed properly, etc.

Some of the issues I fixed myself, but should have been addressed at the manufacturing facility or at the dealership, which we pay $400 for prep, which is nothing more than a washing. Fortunately, I found enough screws laying on the floor throughout the RV to fill in for all the missing screws.

My main concern was the roof. Upon taking possession, I did not inspect the roof as there was no ladder to do so and in past purchases, the roof had not been an issue on a new unit. I filled out a concern at the Coachmen FAQ forum, but no response.

The issue was the fact that the roof was sagging and there are low spots that would hold water. Also, there are ripples in the roof membrane and areas along the edges and front cap that are not glued down and had several elongated air pockets under the material. This was a concern for me as this in not like our previous 2005 Coachmen, 2017 Coachmen or 2018 Surveyor units. The roof was so bad that it needed a whole new roof replacement.

I was in contact with Rex Gambill, the Apex general manager who was responsive to replace the roof, but it would take up to 3 months to complete. I felt that he was making it as inconvenient as possible, would not do any compensation for the loss of usage and was not very understanding and sympathetic to our situation. Coachmen Apex passed the work off to the dealership to perform. This was actually the best result as they repaired the subpar substructure and stalled a roof and membrane superior to the low-end membrane that Coachmen installed at the factory.

I will have to say that this was a big disappointment at a time when my wife and I were excited about this unit and the future.

My other concern is that with such poor quality, What else is wrong in the construction that we don't see or have seen yet. If the opportunity should arise, I would not buy or recommend a Coachmen/Forest River product.

User's recommendation: I spent months researching for our next unit. Unfortunately, I took for granted past product experience. Even though we were "rushed" through the inspection process. I highly recommend that you take all the time you need and thoroughly look at every detail. Lessons learned. Looking back, I should have gone with my first instinct and gone with the Grand Design.
